I recently upgraded my custom PC by installing a Radeon GTX 9060 XT into my ASUS ROG STRIX B550-A GAMING motherboard. While I'm not a pro at PC building, I've done upgrades before, but this time my acquaintance who works in IT helped me with the installation because it was tricky getting the GPU to fit. After finally getting it in, my PC worked fine for a day and a half, running games without any issue. However, now my main monitor is stuck at a low resolution of 640x480, even though the GPU shows up in device management. My second, cheaper screen works fine and displays a lower resolution perfectly. I tried different HDMI cables and even connected to my TV where it displayed the correct resolution. Should I just get a new monitor, or is there possibly something else going on here? The old monitor is about 10 years old, and I'm puzzled as to why it stopped working properly after only a short time. Any advice would be appreciated!

It sounds like your monitor might be the issue, especially if your other display and TV work fine with the GPU. Since the monitor is quite old, it could have trouble handling newer hardware. I'd suggest trying a different monitor to see if that resolves the issue.
Have you checked your PSU? Sometimes if the power supply isn't providing enough juice, it can cause weird display issues. Although your Aerocool GT-700S should be sufficient for that GPU. Just keep an eye on those random shutdowns, if you're having any. Definitely could be related!
Yeah, PSU issues can be subtle. But if everything else is running fine, it might just be the old monitor acting up.
I haven't noticed random shutdowns, just the display issue. Thanks for the tip though!
