How can I fix my monitor losing signal while trying to reset my forgotten password?

I just got an HP EliteDesk 800 G3 from my dad, who stopped using it about a year ago. I powered it on for the first time in ages and realized we've forgotten the password. I've scoured various forums for solutions and have tried a factory reset and the Utilman hack, but whenever I select anything in safe recovery mode, my monitor loses signal. I'm stuck! I've even tried using another monitor and switched the HDMI cables multiple times, even using a DisplayPort cable. Does anyone have any advice on how to resolve this issue?

One option would be to reinstall Windows from a USB drive. If you have data you want to keep, you might consider booting from a live OS first, like Hiren's Boot CD or any Linux distro—this might allow you to access your files before doing anything drastic. But since your monitor loses signal even at the BIOS screen, it could complicate the Windows installation process. You might need to troubleshoot that signal issue first, just to be safe!

I have a USB stick on the way from Amazon for the reinstall. Just wondering though, since my monitor loses signal at the BIOS too, will that cause problems during setup?
