Why does Gnome Software feel so slow on my Arch Linux?

I'm using Arch Linux on my laptop, and I've noticed that Gnome Software takes a lot longer to find and download Flatpaks compared to KDE's Discover. It gets so frustrating that I often just resort to installing applications directly through the command line. Is there a reason for this slowness? Could it be a bug or a limitation with Gnome Software?

Gnome Software relies on PackageKit to work with different package managers like dnf or apt. Unfortunately, PackageKit isn't the fastest option out there, which might explain some of the lag you're experiencing. Your speed can also vary based on your specific distro settings. Have you considered using Discover instead? It might be quicker for you!

Yeah, I get that, but I’m still curious why Gnome's version is so sluggish, especially when it’s meant to use Flatpaks.

What’s stopping you from just using KDE Discover if it’s faster? Seems like an easier option while you troubleshoot Gnome Software.

Honestly, I’m not really sure. Maybe you just need to tweak some settings or check if something's going wrong with your connection? I wouldn’t know, though.
