Are my Ryzen 7 7700X temperatures normal?

I'm checking on my Ryzen 7 7700X temps. It's idling around 46°C to 53°C, and during gaming (specifically playing Battlefront 2 from 2017), it reaches between 76°C and 84°C. I've seen mixed opinions—some sources like Google and AMD say these temps are fine, but I've heard others claim they are on the hotter side. I'm trying to get a clearer idea of what temperature ranges are considered good. By the way, my current cooling setup has negative pressure with 3 intake fans and 6 exhaust fans, which I'm fixing tonight. Also, my fans are set to silent mode, which I know doesn't help either, and I plan to adjust that soon too!

Glad to hear that! Just a quick question—should the fans be mounted under the motherboard or is it better for them to be under the CPU cooler? This is my first build, and I still have a lot to learn!

Your temps are actually fine! I wouldn't stress over anything under 90°C while under load. That said, your silent fan profile and the negative pressure setup likely contribute to those higher temps. The silent mode means your fans only kick into higher RPMs when temps get high, which can lead to higher average temps overall.
