I'm in the process of building my first gaming PC and I've been reading that many people suggest skipping the HDD altogether and sticking with SSDs due to their speed. My main concern is actually storage space rather than speed. Is it really true that I don't need an HDD? Could I just go with a single 2TB SSD and be good to go?

Most folks recommend SSDs simply because they’re a lot more affordable now. If you're only planning to have one drive, an SSD is the way to go as it really makes your system feel snappier. That said, HDDs definitely still have their place—especially for bulk storage of files you don’t need to access all the time.
I get where you’re coming from! My setup has multiple SSDs and a large HDD, which I use primarily for games. It’s great for keeping everything without having to constantly redownload. Speed is awesome, but having that extra space helps a lot too!
