I recently had my old charging cable break and bought a new one from Samsung for my Xiaomi Redmi 13. I thought all USB-C cables were the same, but I'm finding it's harder to connect the new cable to my phone compared to the original one. Is it safe to use this Samsung cable, or could it potentially damage my charging port? Just to clarify, I'm not really asking about the technical specs like voltage, just the physical connector itself.

The USB-C connection has two main aspects: the connector and the cable itself. While all cables work with lower power standards, some support much higher wattage than others. So if your phone is designed for lower wattage, that’s all it will draw, but fitting issues may arise with certain cables.
The USB-C connector itself is indeed the same, so if it doesn’t fit well, it might just be a quality issue with the new cable. There are a ton of different specs for cables in terms of speed and power that often aren’t labeled clearly, so it can be confusing.
Unfortunately, not all USB-C cables are created equal. While they share the same connector type, some versions might fit differently, and some cables have specific capabilities that others don't.

Yeah, I checked the specifications of the cable, but the connector is definitely a bit tricky to get in there.
