Do I Really Need the 4+4 Pin CPU Power Cable for My New Power Supply?

I'm in the process of upgrading my PC's power supply from a 600W to a 750W unit, but I've noticed that the new power supply doesn't come with a 4+4 pin CPU power cable. Is it necessary for my setup to function properly, or can I operate the system without it?

What kind of power supply did you get? Any decent 750W PSU should have at least a single 8-pin EPS12V connector for the CPU. It’s pretty standard nowadays!

Are you referring to the big connector for the motherboard? Mine has one.

Absolutely! Just to clarify, sometimes the 4+4 cable looks like an 8-pin since they can get slightly stuck or mispacked. Look for the letters EPS on it!
