I'm in the process of building an AM5 PC, and I'm torn between two setups. One option is the MSI B840 Gaming paired with a Ryzen 5 7500F, while the other is the ASUS PRIME B650M-K with either a Ryzen 5 9600X or a Ryzen 7 7700 (both are priced the same). The 7500F is about 25% cheaper than the 9600X. I want to know where I should spend my money: should I prioritize a better CPU with more features like additional RAM slots and a solid BIOS, or should I go for the cheaper option and invest that money elsewhere for better performance?

Consider how you’ll use the PC. If you're into video editing or 3D modeling, going for the 7700 makes sense, as the extra two cores will really help with those tasks. Plus, it performs slightly better in gaming as well.
Why not save with the 7500F and put that extra cash into a better GPU? You’ll find that any decent GPU paired with the B840 and 7500F will give you great performance, especially for gaming.
If it were me, I'd go for the 9600X or the 7700 setup. Having an integrated GPU is pretty important; it helps troubleshoot any future issues without worrying about the CPU if there’s no signal. But hey, do what feels right for you if you want to save that 25%!
Yeah, I usually play CS2 and do some video editing, so I was leaning towards the 7700, but I also get excited about having a solid motherboard and BIOS.
