How do I clear up space on my desktop to stop the lag?

I'm noticing this other disk labeled 'recovery (D:)' taking up a lot of space on my computer, and I suspect that it might be causing my desktop to lag. Is there a way to delete it, or should I be cautious about that? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

That disk named 'recovery (D:)' is crucial for system recovery, definitely don’t delete it. If it's filled with data that's not needed, check the files inside and consider trimming unnecessary restore points. But remember, the main issue for lag is often limited space on your system disk, not the recovery one.

I totally get it! I recently faced this too. I downloaded WizTree to check what files were taking up space; it helped me a lot! It’s a good tool to visualize disk usage and free up space.

You shouldn't delete the recovery partition since it serves a purpose for repairing Windows. It's not what's causing your lag, so look into other factors instead!
