Hey everyone! I'm a new PC owner and I've just moved back to college in the Midwest. My dorm is pretty old and has some unusual wall jacks next to my PC (I've attached a picture). I picked up an Ethernet cord from IT, hoping to boost my connection, but I'm not sure if I can actually get Ethernet from these wall jacks or if I need to consider other options. Any advice would be super helpful! Thanks!

Before you invest in any adapters, why not ask your IT department what those jacks are for? They might be able to help you figure out whether they're connected to anything or how to actually use them. Sometimes it's best to just clarify with the resources available to you! Good luck!
It looks like those wall jacks are for satellite connections, not Ethernet. There's probably no way to get a WiFi connection through there. If you have access to your building's router, consider getting a power line adapter. You plug one adapter into a socket near the router with an Ethernet cable, and the other goes in your room to connect your PC. It could be a solid solution if you're having trouble with WiFi!
Great idea! I'll definitely check with them tomorrow. It's always good to use the resources at hand, right? Thanks!
