Is It Worth Upgrading My Ryzen 5 3600X to a Ryzen 7 7800X3D?

Hey everyone! I built my PC back in 2019 when AMD released their 3000 series CPUs and got a Ryzen 5 3600X. Fast forward to now, the CPU feels like it's struggling, especially with games like CS2, Valorant, and PUBG. My performance has dropped significantly, going from 300-400 FPS in CSGO to only 100-230 FPS in CS2, along with some lag spikes. I'm currently using an RTX 2060 with 16GB of 3200MHz RAM. I'm considering upgrading to the new AM5 platform with the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. What should I expect in terms of performance boost, especially since I plan on upgrading my GPU to a 9070XT later on? Thanks for your help!

If you're planning to upgrade to the 7800X3D along with a new motherboard and RAM, then absolutely go for it! Just keep in mind that your RTX 2060 might hold back the performance gains at first. It might be better to wait and upgrade the entire setup together, but upgrading the CPU first will still give you a smoother experience.

Yeah, I was thinking of upgrading the CPU first and then the GPU later on. Hopefully, that helps in the meantime!

You'll definitely see an improvement! I went from a Ryzen 5 3600X to a Ryzen 9 9900X, and the performance boost is noticeable. From what I've read, with the 7800X3D, you could experience up to a 90% performance increase. Just be prepared that your GPU might still be a limiting factor until you upgrade to the 9070XT.

Yes, upgrading to the 7800X3D would be a major boost! Although your FPS may not skyrocket with your current GPU, you'll notice less lag and smoother gameplay. Once you upgrade to the 9070XT, you'll really enjoy the full potential of your new CPU.

That's what I'm hoping for! The 9070XT looks incredible, but I'm just worried it might be too powerful for my current setup.
