Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with my MacBook Pro M1. It got stuck on macOS Big Sur, and in a moment of desperation, I followed some instructions (thanks, ChatGPT) that led me to delete macOS while trying to keep my data. Now, I'm attempting to install macOS from a bootable USB, but it keeps failing. When I try to enter recovery mode, I get a message saying "there are no users on this volume to recover mac." I'm unable to access recovery or fix macOS. Is there any other way to recover my data? Also, can anyone suggest how to boot macOS from a USB?

It sounds like you might have a tough situation on your hands, but if your data is still on the drive, using Target Disk Mode might be your best bet. Just connect your Mac to another Mac via USB-C or Thunderbolt, and boot your Mac while holding the 'T' key. This should allow you to access your files directly from the other Mac. Check out the Apple support page for detailed instructions.

Just a heads up, this method relies on having another working Mac. If that’s not an option, you might need to look into data recovery software or professional help.
