My friend's iPad has completely died, and she's lost over $200 worth of art commissions along with some other important files. She's not very familiar with Apple devices, and despite visiting an Apple store, they weren't able to help. We're wondering if there's any possible way to recover these files, like using a memory card or any sort of file transfer system. Unfortunately, we also don't know the specific model of the iPad. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

One option is to try restoring the last iCloud backup onto a new device. If your friend had iCloud set up, there’s a chance her files could be there!
If there was absolutely no backup, it looks like she’s probably out of luck this time. It’s a real bummer.
If she didn't back those files up anywhere, unfortunately, they might be lost for good. It's tough, but that's the reality with no backup.
If she has iCloud enabled, she might still have a chance! Have her get a new iPad, and she can check for the backup there just in case.
Yeah, she should also try logging into iCloud from a laptop or computer to see if any of her files are there.

It’s worth checking iCloud.com as well, like looking in the Photos or iCloud Drive sections to see if anything got saved there.
