I need to replace my dying PNY GeForce 9600 GT (dual display, 1GB, PCIE 1.0 16x) that's in my general use PC with a Gigabyte G41MT-S2P motherboard. While I've built a new computer, I'm using the old one to pull data off it. I'm looking for equivalent or better replacement graphics cards that aren't super expensive. I've primarily used this setup for light gaming and video editing since 2011. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, it's not worth investing much into that old setup. You could probably find something at Goodwill for cheap that's way better. But if you're set on getting a new card, even just a used one that'll work for now might do the job.
You can find a GTX 1060 or a Radeon 570/580 for about $40 on Facebook Marketplace. They'll give you a decent upgrade over the 9600 GT and help with your tasks without breaking the bank.
Honestly, you might want to consider a budget-friendly option. If you're just trying to grab files off the old machine, the cheapest second-hand GPU you can find should suffice. Something like a used GTX 760 or 750 Ti can be had for around $10, which is perfect for light use until you finish moving your stuff. Just ensure it doesn't have a PCIe power connector to keep your old PSU safe!
Thanks for the tip! I just need something functioning for now.
That's exactly the type of advice I need! Thanks!
