I've been through a few Linux distros in my quest for the perfect gaming setup. I started with Ubuntu and then moved to Kubuntu, but I hit a lot of compatibility issues. Things really went south when I attempted to play No Man's Sky and encountered crashes that I suspect might be related to my hybrid PC setup, which has both Intel and Nvidia GPUs. I've tried other distros like Nobara and Debian, but those didn't work out either. Currently, I'm using Pop!_OS because I've heard it's compatible with hybrid systems, but I'm not totally convinced it's the best option. I'd love some recommendations for other distros that might work better for gaming since I've already wiped my disk a bunch of times trying to fix this.

When I was told my motherboard couldn't support Windows 11, I switched to EndeavorOS on my gaming rig and had a blast. No gaming issues at all!
I’ve put hundreds of hours into No Man’s Sky on Kubuntu without any major issues! Just make sure you’re using Nvidia's proprietary drivers instead of the open-source ones. If you're using a KDE desktop, yes, it may default to Wayland, but you can switch back to X11 if you encounter problems at the login screen. I haven’t faced any compatibility hurdles, thanks to Steam!
CachyOS could be a good option for you. It’s based on Arch, so it might have some tricky setups, but everything is doable!
