I'm trying to figure out if I can use my B860 motherboard with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor. Do I need to update the BIOS, or is it necessary to replace one of them? Any help would be appreciated!

The B860 motherboard is actually an Intel chipset, so it won’t support the Ryzen 7 9800X3D at all. If you meant a B850, that might work just fine, but it could require a BIOS update.
Just to clarify, if you've got a B860, you're out of luck because that's not compatible with Ryzen CPUs. If you bought it recently for your Ryzen, you'll need to return it and grab a motherboard that's made for AMD processors!
