Hey everyone, I'm in the process of building a budget PC and I'm stuck on whether to go for the Ryzen 7 5700 or the Ryzen 5 5500. I've been searching for benchmarks on the 5700, but I can't seem to find any information. I know it exists, but I'm wondering if it's worth the extra expense compared to the 5500. What do you all think?

Both the 5500 and 5700 have their flaws. Ideally, you should aim for the R5 5600 or 5600X for better overall performance without breaking the bank.
Going for the 5600 or 5700 is a wise investment if you want improved performance. Have you considered investing in the AM5 platform? It could save you money in the long run and simplify future upgrades.
If you're making a choice, I definitely recommend the Ryzen 5600 if it’s within your budget. It's known for being a solid performer.

I was thinking about it! But I’m hoping to save up for a full upgrade with a motherboard and RAM next year when I get a bit of a raise.
