I'm planning to buy the B580 Intel Limited Edition next week, and I want to know if DVI works with DisplayPort. Should I get an HDMI to DVI cable instead? Also, since the main port for the Intel Arc is DisplayPort, will this impact performance? Just to clarify, I'm getting a new monitor after I get my GPU, so this is only a temporary setup.

There's both HDMI to DVI and DisplayPort to DVI cables out there. Keep in mind that using DVI will limit your resolution and framerate. Honestly, you could find a second-hand 1080p 60Hz display with HDMI for the price of that cable, which might be a better choice for you.
DVI and DisplayPort aren't directly compatible. You can use an HDMI to DVI adapter, but if your monitor only accepts DVI and is older, it might be time to think about getting a new one.
You can definitely use a cheap adapter or cable to convert DisplayPort to DVI, and it shouldn’t affect your performance at all.
