Is it Better to Upgrade My PC Now or Wait for the AM6 CPUs?

I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade my PC right now or hold out until the AM6 CPUs and new motherboards come out. Here's my current setup:
- CPU: Ryzen 9 5900x (overclocked to 5.1 GHz)
- CPU cooler: Corsair H150i Capellix Elite LCD
- GPU: ASUS TUF RX 7900 GRE GAMING OC
- Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus Elite B550 V2 AX
- RAM: G-Skill Ripjaws 2x16GB DDR4 3600
- PSU: Corsair RM750x
- Case: Corsair 5000T white with multiple fans

If I decide to upgrade, I plan to keep everything except for the CPU, motherboard, and RAM. The new parts I'm considering are:
- CPU: Ryzen 7800X3D
- Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX B850-A Gaming Wifi white
- RAM: XPG AX5U6000C3016G-DCLANRSG LANCER NEON RGB 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 1.35V EXPO

Alternatively, should I just upgrade my GPU to the 9070XT instead? Thanks for any advice!

If you're leaning towards an upgrade now, it sounds like you have good options lined up! Just be aware that the newest CPUs usually come at premium prices right after launch, so keep an eye on your budget too.

Just a heads up, AM6 CPUs won't even be out until 2027 or 2028. There's talk about AM5 CPUs with better specs and prices coming soon, so you might find a better value if you upgrade now instead of waiting years for AM6.

Exactly! Plus, if AM5 gets extended support, it might save you a lot in the long run.

Honestly, it looks like you still have a decent setup. If you're mainly gaming, I’d suggest upgrading your GPU instead, especially if you aren't hitting any major performance issues right now. But if you're gaming at 1080p with high refresh rates, maybe consider a quick GPU upgrade now and hold off for those AM6 CPUs later!

Yeah, I agree! Unless you're feeling bottlenecked or struggling with other games, your system seems solid enough for now.
