I'm getting a Gigabyte B850 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 motherboard and the only SSD I have is a PCIe 4.0 m.2. I'm a bit confused about whether I should install it in the PCIe 5.0 slot or one of the PCIe 4.0 slots since this will be my only SSD for now. Any advice on which slot to use?

You should definitely check your motherboard manual to find out which slot is optimized for your setup. Typically, the slot that's between your CPU and GPU is the main one, and it'll run at PCIe 4.0 speeds even when a PCIe 5.0 device is installed.
I recommend putting your SSD in the slot closest to your CPU. This way, you'll have faster access to your C: drive, no matter if it’s using the full bandwidth or not.
No issues by default, but keep in mind that it could reduce your GPU bandwidth. It's best to check your motherboard manual for details.

If I decide to swap it with a PCIe 5.0 SSD later, will that cause any issues?
