I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card from an RTX 2080 Super and want something that's a noticeable improvement. My budget is $500, so I'm hoping to get some insights or recommendations from you all, especially since I'm not super experienced with building or upgrading PCs. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

If you want an upgrade that makes sense, consider waiting a bit. There’s talk about a possible refresh of the 5000 series, and the 5070 Super may come out soon, plus it could have more VRAM. That might be worth holding off for, even if the price shifts a little.

Are you leaning more towards Nvidia or open to AMD? Depending on your preferred game styles (like whether you’ll use raytracing), this might influence the choice. For $500, the options are decent, but I’d love to know more about your priorities. Plus, check if there’s a specific retailer you prefer for purchasing!

In my opinion, unless you’re going to get at least a 2x performance improvement, it might not be worth upgrading yet. The 5070 is $549 right now, and it's a solid choice. The 12GB of VRAM might be a concern down the line, but if you're gaming at 1080p, it shouldn't be an issue for a while.

Honestly, your budget makes it a little tricky. If you're hoping for a big leap in either resolution or frames per second, look at the 5060 Ti or 9060 XT. They're priced well and offer about a 34%-41% performance boost over what you currently have. But if you can stretch your budget to $550-$600, the 5070 is a beast, offering nearly double the performance of your current card!

Good call on saving a bit more! That 5070 will definitely future-proof your setup.

If you sell your RTX 2080 Super, you could potentially have around $725 to spend. In that case, I'd recommend looking at the 5070 Ti or even the 9070 XT. They offer significant performance improvements. If you're tight on budget, the 5060 Ti or 9060 XT are solid choices as well, relatively fast and within your price range.

Totally agree! Selling your old GPU really opens up your options. The 5070 Ti is definitely the way to go for that extra performance.
