I'm looking to upgrade my PC to meet Windows 11 requirements since I'm currently using a Ryzen 1600. I've got two options in mind: a new Ryzen 5600X or 5800X, both priced similarly, or I could go for a used Ryzen 5900X at about the same cost. I primarily game on the PC, particularly with Paradox games that I hear take good advantage of the extra L3 cache. I'm aiming for my next upgrade around 2028 or 2029 for the AM6 platform. What do you all think?

I’d reconsider the 5900X unless you're running heavy workloads that benefit from the 12 cores and 24 threads. It's more power-hungry and might require a better cooler and PSU. The 5800X is probably the better choice for gaming without overcomplication.
If all three options are priced the same, I'd go for the 5900X. It offers better performance and can handle more demanding tasks.
Honestly, the Ryzen 7 5800X should be good enough for you as long as your motherboard is compatible. It's a solid middle ground for gaming and general use.
So you're saying the extra L3 cache on the 5900X isn’t a game-changer?
