I'm considering getting a USB-C Power Adapter for my new iPhone 16, as well as a new USB-C cable for my laptop. However, the prices on the Apple website seem pretty high. I'm wondering if it's a bad idea to go for cheaper alternatives instead. Can anyone share if it really makes a difference in quality or safety when using non-Apple chargers?

As long as you're choosing a reputable brand and avoiding those super cheap options, you're likely fine! Brands like Belkin and Samsung offer reliable alternatives. Just stay clear of the sketchy ones you find on sites like Temu or Wish.
I've used Anker and uGreen chargers for years without any problems. Apple's chargers tend to be pricey, and they don't always have the latest battery tech. I even use the dual charger that came with my MacBook Air without issues.
I've never used Apple chargers myself. I have chargers from Anker, Ravpower, and some other brands, and they’ve all been great for me. I've been using third-party chargers for over a decade without any issues.
It’s not a huge deal to use non-Apple chargers, as long as they're from a well-known brand. I personally use Anker for everything, and they work great with Apple devices.
Same here! Can't complain!
