I'm looking to upgrade my CPU from a Ryzen 5 1600X. I currently have an RTX 2060 and I mostly game at 1080p on a 60Hz monitor. On the local market, I can get a Ryzen 5 3600 for about £30-40, while a 5600X costs around £88 with warranty. I know the 5600X is considerably better, but I'm not sure if it's worth spending twice as much, especially since I plan to switch to an AM5 platform sometime within the next year. My Ryzen 1600X is really starting to struggle with games like Cyberpunk, so I'd appreciate any advice!

I recently upgraded from a Ryzen 1800X to a 5950X, and let me tell you, the jump in performance with any of the Zen 3 chips is huge. If you're gaming, the 5600X is definitely worth the investment. It's a game changer compared to the older models!
I've had a 5600X before and I totally agree, it's an amazing CPU! Just a heads up, if you're planning an AM5 upgrade soon, maybe the 3600 could hold you over until then. But the 5600X will handle pretty much anything you throw at it!
