I recently built a PC and it was working fine at first. I was having trouble connecting my ARGB fan, so I left it disconnected to test everything out. However, today I plugged it back in along with a GPU stabilizer. I wasn't exactly sure where to connect it, but I came across some advice online and ended up connecting a 4-pin cable to a header labeled "G B V" on my motherboard. I thought I was doing it right based on what I read. However, when I powered on the PSU, the GPU lit up blue, and everything turned on for just a second before the PC shut off completely. Now I'm in a panic, unsure if I've completely fried my components. Can anyone help me figure out what might have gone wrong? What should I check to determine if I damaged my PC?

It could be just a fan that got fried, but if the motherboard isn't powering up now, it’s not looking good. The 3-pin ARGB cable should be connected to the 3-pin header properly. If both are from the same fan and you misconnected the 4-pin, you might have a serious issue. Keep your fingers crossed!
If you connected a 4-pin cable to the wrong header, you could definitely have shorted something out. The 4-pin ARGB connector should NOT go into the 12V RGB header. Did you get the directions mixed up? Check if there's any visible damage, but if your motherboard isn’t powering up, you might need to consider that it’s damaged.
I plugged the 4-pin into the BRG 12V header, and it was fine initially, but now it’s dead. Do you think I fried just the motherboard?
Hey! It sounds like you may have plugged something incorrectly. Can you take a clearer photo of the connectors and the motherboard? Knowing the exact model of your motherboard and the ARGB fan would help, too. A good angle can really clarify things!
Thanks for the tip! I just uploaded a better photo.
I think I messed up big time. I’ll check everything over again and see if I can get it running.
