So, I had a bit of a disaster recently. My roommate and I got into an argument involving his Roomba, which escalated to him shoving me. I retaliated and he accidentally knocked my computer off the desk. Now, whenever I try to boot it up, I get this horrible smell like burning hair or pennies and the computer won't start at all. Is this something I can fix myself or do I need to get a new computer? Can it be a BIOS issue? I'm in a rush because I want to donate to my favorite VTubers as soon as possible!

A burning smell is really concerning. Since it's a desktop, open it up to see where the smell is coming from. But honestly, if you're unsure, it might be safer to take it to a shop.
It sounds like a hardware problem for sure. It's not something you can fix in the BIOS, unfortunately. Depending on how nice your computer is, you might just want to get a new one instead.
If you smell something funny, it’s likely coming from the power supply. I recommend checking that first.
If you’re not joking, you might need to take it to the shop. It sounds like there’s physical damage. If you’re lucky, it’s just the power supply, but it could be worse.
Actually, I have a pretty nice PC with new specs too. Can I make my roommate pay for the damages?
