Did I make the right choice with my PC upgrade?

I'm upgrading my PC because I was having some crashing issues, which I've fixed by replacing my PSU. I'm aiming for a budget-friendly upgrade to occasionally play games (like Kingdom Come 2 on high settings) and also to work on music production and video editing. I'm just wondering if I wasted my money on the components I chose or if I should have gone for more recent options. I upgraded from a Ryzen 2700X to a 5700X3D for $280, and from a 2060 SUPER to an RX 6800 (non-XT) for $400. I'd love to hear your thoughts! Thanks!

I think you made a solid decision with your upgrade, though I'd probably recommend sticking with an Nvidia GPU for better video editing compatibility. Your choices aren't a waste; they're just not the latest, which is fine for your needs. Just keep in mind that AM5 is coming up if you're considering future upgrades.

Honestly, it sounds like you might have overpaid a bit for the 5700X3D. It's a decent pick, but prices can vary, and you could possibly find better deals. That said, you’re not making a terrible choice overall.

You could've saved a lot by checking out the used market for the GPU and even stuck with Nvidia. You can find 3070s for around $250, and honestly, my setup with a 3070 runs Kingdom Come Deliverance on max settings at about 90 fps.
