Hey everyone! I'm building a new PC for my husband because his current one is over 20 years old and can't keep up with gaming anymore—it keeps crashing on him. I want to make this build amazing for him, especially since he never treats himself. So far, I've picked out these parts:
- GPU: ASUS ROG Strix RTX 5090 ASTRAL OC
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
- Motherboard: ASUS Crosshair X870E Extreme
I would really appreciate your help in putting the rest of the build together! I'm not very experienced with PC builds, but I want him to have the best setup possible! Thank you!

Since you're already aiming for top-tier parts, you should know that you have quite a budget to work with! I created two build suggestions for you: one really high-end at around $5690, and a slightly more affordable option at around $3950 that still delivers great performance. It's important to know the investment you're making when buying these parts. And just to clarify, are you and your husband planning to build this together?
Wow, you're going all out! Just a heads up, the RTX 5090 has been known to have some issues with melting cables. You might want to consider underclocking it. For solid guidance on compatibility and pricing, definitely check out pcpartpicker.com. It’s super handy!
Thanks for the info! He actually always wanted to build his own PC, so I think he’ll have fun with it. I might even let him pick out some parts himself. I mostly wanted to get him started with a solid base.
