What to Expect in a CTO Interview Debrief for a Software Engineer Role?

Hey everyone! I'm currently in the interview process for a Software Engineer position and would love to get some insights from anyone who's been through something similar. So far, I've talked to the CEO and completed a take-home coding assignment where I built a Python script that processes and filters public vulnerability data. Next up is a debrief with the CTO, which will be our first meeting. I'm curious about what usually happens in such a debrief—like what kind of questions I might face, whether they'll cover technical aspects or project design—and I'm also wondering how I can gauge how far along I am in the process. I really want to be prepared, so I'd appreciate any tips or personal experiences! Thanks!

In your CTO debrief, expect some casual technical questions aimed at assessing your overall skill set. It's more about your thinking process rather than just getting the right answers. Keep it honest; if there's something you don’t know, talk through your thought process and ask questions. Remember, don’t try to fake it—CTOs are usually quite knowledgeable and can see through that quickly. Good luck!

Thanks for the input! I'm definitely trying to keep it real and prepare thoroughly for the discussion.
