What type of RAM should I get to upgrade my DDR3?

Hey everyone! I'm looking to replace my current RAM, which is DDR3, and I'd really appreciate some guidance on the best options available. Right now, I have 4x2GB of DDR3, and I'm hoping to upgrade to more than 8GB. My PC is an HP Elite 8300 Microtower with an Intel Core i3-3320 processor, and it currently runs on Windows 10 Pro. I would prefer to find some recommendations on where to buy this RAM, particularly from Amazon or a trusted site, since I'm a bit busy with college and might not have time to shop around. If anyone has suggestions or experiences with this, I'd love to hear them!

You’ll want to look for regular desktop DDR3, ideally rated at 1600MHz. Right now, you can find a pair of 8GB sticks for around $17 if you’re in the U.S. You can just add the new sticks to your existing setup if that works for you!

Thanks! I’ll definitely check that out!

Your computer can handle unbuffered non-ECC PC3-12800 DDR3-1600 memory up to 16 GB, which means you can fill all four slots with 4 GB sticks if you want to maximize performance. Check out the hardware reference guide for more details! [Link to guide](https://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03347207.pdf).

I have a few spare 8GB sticks of DDR3 1333MHz if you're interested. They’re just collecting dust on my shelf! Let me know.

Your HP Elite 8300 supports DDR3 1600 MHz RAM. Just make sure not to get anything faster—your system won’t be compatible with it. The maximum you can install is 16GB, so you should be good there!

Yeah, I figured 16GB was the cap, but I wanted to double-check. Thanks for the advice!
