Should I Upgrade My PSU Cables or Just Use Extensions?

Hey everyone! I'm thinking about upgrading some cables for my PSU since the original ones aren't looking great. Plus, I'm a bit worried about the PCIe 5.1 power cable for my RTX 5070 Ti bending at a weird angle. I'm trying to decide if I should just get new cables that connect directly to the PSU or if it's better to just use extension cables to keep the factory ones. Also, I've heard good things about brands like EZDIY-FAB, CableMod, MODDIY, and AsiaHorse for PSU cables, but I stumbled upon the Sirlyr Extension Cable Kit, and it looks amazing! Does anyone know if it's good or if I should steer clear?

Extensions are a solid choice if you're mainly concerned about looks. Just make sure you're using quality ones. Sometimes the original cables are still the best option unless you have a specific need to replace them. And yeah, with brands like Corsair, their compatibility is usually noted. Always check that before making a choice!

I think getting extensions is the safer route! Direct replacement cables come with risks, and if your PSU isn’t designed for them, it could lead to problems—one person even claimed it could be harmful to your health! Stick with extensions if you just want a better aesthetic without messing with the hardware. As for the Sirlyr Kit, I haven’t tried it myself, but it looked decent when I checked it out online.
