What do I need to upgrade for better gaming performance?

I'm not super tech-savvy, but I've realized that my PC needs an upgrade since I enjoy playing games like BeamNG.drive, DayZ, Rust, Tarkov, Project Zomboid, Ready or Not, and Arma series. Unfortunately, when I play these games, especially in multiplayer, my PC freezes, makes glitchy noises, and just runs poorly overall. Here are my current specs: CPU - Intel Core i3-10105F 3.70GHz, RAM - 16GB, Storage - 238.5GB SSD and 476.9GB SSD, and GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650. I've made sure my drivers are all up to date, and I'm planning to have a local shop handle the upgrades for me since I'm not comfortable doing it myself.

It really depends on your budget, but I'd suggest focusing on upgrading your CPU and GPU. Consider going for an i5-11400 since it’s a decent choice without the need for a new motherboard, RAM, or lots of additional costs. For your GPU, the 9060XT 16GB is great but might be out of your range—but there are plenty of used options out there that could work well too!

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll definitely check out the i5-11400.

Ah yes, the innocent little i3-10105F! It’s cute but definitely limits your gaming experience. Upgrading to an i5-11600F can help a lot with your freezing and glitching issues without overwhelming your current setup. Just remember, your CPU can bottleneck a better GPU, so it’s smart to upgrade that first. If you do, consider snagging a GTX 1080 or even see if Intel Arc B580 or RTX 3060 cards are available at good prices!

Haha, I feel that! I’ll look at the i5-11600F for sure!

You're spot on with the games you’re playing; they really eat up CPU resources. Start with the CPU upgrade, and once you've done that, if you can stretch your budget, a GPU upgrade will also enhance your gaming experience. I'd recommend trying to do the upgrades yourself if you feel up to it; there are tons of tutorials online that make it straightforward!

Thanks, I'm planning on ordering an i5-11600 and an RTX 4060 soon, do you think they'll work well together?
