I recently upgraded to an RTX 5060, leaving my old 2060 unused. I'm curious if there's a way to set up both GPUs to improve performance or quality in games like Monster Hunter: World. Would it require changing my motherboard? Here's my current build:
- Micro-ATX MSI MAG B550M Mortar
- AMD Ryzen 5 3600
- G.SKILL Trident Z Neo RGB 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3600MHz
- Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500GB NVMe + WD Black SN750 500GB NVMe + 750GB SATA Hard Drive
- Corsair RM Series RM650 (2019) 80+ Gold Modular
- MSI Geforce RTX 5060 Ventus 2x OC 8GB

Unfortunately, most games are designed to only utilize a single GPU. So, adding a second one might not help like you'd hope.
Using two different GPUs for gaming these days just isn't practical. The VRAM needs are so high that it's usually more cost-effective to just upgrade to a higher-end single GPU instead of trying to pair two together like that. Some cards cost a fortune to bridge for special tasks, but they lack general graphics support.
While you can't use both GPUs to directly boost VRAM, there's an option with a program called Lossless Scaling that can let you run them together in some games. The 5060 would handle the main rendering, while the 2060 could assist with frame generation. It's worth a look, but results can vary by game.
I heard that can be hit or miss. Some people say using native options outperforms apps like that.

Thanks for the tip! I'll check it out for my setup.
