I'm thinking about upgrading my computer. I currently have a Ryzen 5 3300X, an RTX 2060 Super, and 17 GB of RAM. I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading certain components, or should I just buy a new PC instead?

First, check if your motherboard's BIOS is up-to-date. After that, consider upgrading to a Ryzen 5 5600 series CPU and getting a good 2x16GB DDR4 RAM kit (3200/3600MHz). For your GPU, opt for the best one that fits your budget, but be mindful of your total costs.

Before making any decisions, think about your budget. You can upgrade to a Ryzen 5800XT, add another 16GB RAM (for 32GB total), get a new PSU, and maybe upgrade your GPU as well. If you don’t have much to spend, upgrading might save you around $100 on the motherboard and RAM.

It really depends on your gaming needs. If you mainly play at 1080p, swapping your RAM for 32GB of faster memory could suffice for now. But if you're aiming for 1440p gaming, then at least upgrading the GPU would be a smart move.

Honestly, for around $1,000, you might as well just build a whole new PC from scratch. It'll be more future-proof and you won't have to worry about compatibility issues.

If you want something like a Ryzen 7 5700X3D, it's definitely a good upgrade. Make sure to check if your motherboard supports it and be prepared for a possible BIOS update. Also, consider moving up to a 32GB RAM kit for better performance.
