Upgrading from Ryzen 5 3600X: Which GPU Should I Choose for 1080p and Potential 1440p Gaming?

Hey everyone! I'm in the process of building a new PC and I'm looking for some advice on which GPU to pair with my new setup. Right now, I've got a Ryzen 5 3600X with 16GB of DDR4 3000MHz RAM and an RTX 2070 Super. I'm planning to upgrade to a Ryzen 7 7700X and jump to 32GB of DDR5 6000MHz RAM with an RX 9070 XT GPU. While I'm primarily gaming at 1080p, I aim to get a 1440p monitor later this year, so I want something that performs well at both resolutions. I'm open to suggestions but also mindful of my budget. I've had my RTX 2070 Super since April 2020, and want my new components to last just as long. Any insights on the best GPU options for my needs would be greatly appreciated!

The 5070 Ti would be a solid choice if you can get it for a good price, but if you're keeping an eye on value, the 9070 XT is often seen as the better deal. Just a thought: consider the 5700X3D instead of hopping to AM5 as that’ll upgrade you nicely without needing a new motherboard. Performance-wise, it’s pretty comparable to the 7700X for 1440p gaming.

For your build, the 9070 XT, 5070 Ti, or even the 5060 Ti would be great options. They should keep you well-equipped for both 1080p and future 1440p gaming without breaking the bank.

I'd suggest setting a budget first, then look for the best GPU within that range. If you want good performance at 1440p down the line, consider something like the 9070 XT or even the 5070 Ti if the price is right. These would give you a solid upgrade without going overboard on your wallet.
