I've been using my HP Pavilion x360 convertible 14-dy0xxx for years and it came with Microsoft Office Home and Student 2019 pre-installed. It was running smoothly until just recently when I noticed that my device has completely disappeared from my Microsoft account. Now, instead of Office 2019, I only see Microsoft 365, and I can't find any option to revert back. My Microsoft account dashboard is bare; it doesn't show my laptop or any subscriptions.
Interestingly, in the control panel, it says that Microsoft 365 was installed on September 1st, but I don't recall installing anything new. After factory resetting my laptop, I opened Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and they worked fine with Office 2019. However, after uninstalling OneDrive, OneNote, and Outlook, I launched Word again and was greeted by Microsoft 365. My PC doesn't even appear on my Microsoft account now. I don't have a product key; I just have an old Microsoft Office confirmation key from when I reset my laptop.
Previously, Office 2019 activated automatically with every reset, but now it feels like Microsoft 365 has taken over. I need a reliable download link for Office 2019, but everything reroutes me to 365. I'm currently swamped with projects, and I'm feeling lost. Is there any solution to this, or should I just accept the switch to 365? It's baffling because 2019 came with my laptop and had all the features I needed!

That sounds really frustrating! It might be that the license for Office 2019 was only valid for a certain period, like five years. Sometimes they market those as 'lifetime' but it really is tied to the expected lifespan of your laptop.
Also, have you checked whether you might be using a different email for your Microsoft account? That could cause issues like this too. If not, it might be worth reaching out to Microsoft support for help with your account and getting your Office 2019 back.
You might want to consider using LibreOffice as a free alternative! It's fully compatible with most Office file formats and could be a good temporary solution while you sort this out.
Welcome to the world of Microsoft, where nothing stays the same! Unfortunately, sometimes they push updates on users that can be quite annoying. But hang tight! There might be ways to fix it, even though it seems hopeless right now. Just hang in there!
