I'm having some trouble with the USB ports on my Dell G15 5510 laptop. Whenever I boot up or restart, everything works fine at first—my keyboard lights up and everything seems normal. However, once the Dell logo appears, the keyboard lights go off, and both my mouse and keyboard become unresponsive. This issue started right after I installed an update. I would really appreciate any help or advice on how to fix this issue!

It sounds like there might be an issue with the USB port itself, either it’s damaged or unable to handle the power demands of your devices. Have you noticed any physical damage to the ports? Also, it's possible that some settings might be affecting USB functionality.
You should definitely try updating your drivers, particularly the System BIOS and the Intel Chipset Device Software. You can find those on Dell's support page for your model. Just reboot after installing, and see if that resolves the problem!
Should I unplug my USB devices before rebooting, or is it okay to leave them connected?
I don't see any damage, but it was all working fine before the update. I've tried all the ports and adjusted my power settings so low power doesn't disable the USB ports, but I'm still stuck.
