Is 16GB VRAM necessary for CS2?

I'm not very knowledgeable about PC hardware, but I'm wondering if having 16GB of VRAM is only beneficial for AAA games, especially when gaming at 2K resolution. I usually play Counter-Strike 2 at 1280x960 with a 4:3 stretched resolution, so would an 8GB VRAM GPU be sufficient for me?

No need for 16GB here. An 8GB card is good for CS2, especially at your resolution. Just focus on a decent CPU, and you'll be good to go!

Honestly, at 960p, any modern graphics card should perform really well. 16GB of VRAM is way more than you need for CS2. If you're looking into 8GB, that's more than enough headroom, and you'd be set for other games too!

An 8GB GPU will be perfectly fine for running CS2 at your resolution, even on high settings. CS isn't really a demanding game in terms of GPU power.

Yeah, it's all about the CPU for CS. You'll get great performance at lower resolutions with modern cards.

Don't worry about getting 16GB for CS2. Even for 1080p, 6GB cards perform adequately, so 8GB is plenty for you.
