About two weeks ago, I encountered issues with my old GTX 970, which led me to finally decide to upgrade my graphics card. After a couple of days researching, I found many recommendations for the RTX 3060 and 4060 as solid budget options. I stumbled upon a used RTX 3060 Ti for 299 euros, thought it was a great deal based on what I read, and went ahead with the purchase. It arrived the next day, and I've installed it successfully.
Yesterday, while watching YouTube videos and browsing PC parts, I came across information indicating that the RTX 5060s are currently priced low and regarded as some of the best cards available. Curiosity got the best of me, and upon checking, I found new RTX 5060s listed for 300 to 350 euros. After looking up benchmarks, I realized that the 5060 is significantly better than the 3060 Ti in terms of performance and features. Initially, I didn't grasp the Nvidia generation naming system, assuming that higher numbers simply indicated better branding, not knowing that they reflect newer generations.
Now I'm questioning if I made a bad choice spending 300 bucks on an older card. Should I return the 3060 Ti while I still can and switch to the 5060, or is the 3060 Ti good enough for an average gamer like me? Should I just save myself the hassle and upgrade again in a year or two?

I think returning it is the best choice. The 5060s are definitely hot right now and offer better performance. If you're unsure about the return policy, you might still have a solid case since it doesn't fit your needs. Just be honest and give them the details.
I suggest returning the card and getting the RTX 5060. It's a better option at the same price, no doubt about it. Honestly, the 3060 Ti is decent, but if you can upgrade to the 5060, that's the way to go!
I’ll try to return it, but I don’t have the protective wrap it came in. I still have the box and packing, though. Do you think they’ll accept it?
What’s worrying me is that it has no damage, so I’m not sure they’ll see my reason as valid since the card works perfectly.
