Which Nvidia Graphics Card Around $600 Should I Upgrade To?

Hey everyone, I'm looking to upgrade my video card. I've been using an EVGA Geforce RTX 2060 Super for a few years now, and while it's handled most games on high or ultra settings at 3440x1440 without any issues, I'm starting to experience some performance drops with newer titles. My current setup includes an MSI MPG z390M Gaming Edge AC motherboard and an Intel Core i5-85000 CPU running at 3.00GHz with 6 cores. With a budget of around $600, I'm wondering what Nvidia cards would be compatible and offer good future-proofing for gaming at that resolution. Am I expecting too much for my budget? I just want to ensure that I make a wise choice that will work with my motherboard!

If you're considering the 5070, that's a great call. However, if you’re open to alternatives, you might also want to check out AMD cards. For about $513, the 9070 at Microcenter is pretty good and has 4GB more VRAM than the 5070. Plus, it performs slightly better. Just consider that your CPU might limit the GPU's potential. It might even be worth upgrading your CPU and motherboard in the future for optimal performance.

I've updated my post with my CPU info, but yeah, I've been leaning towards the 5070 just to keep it simple for now!

I think the RTX 5070 would be a solid choice for your setup. With your Intel i5, it should perform well, especially for the games you're planning to play. Also, what CPU do you have again?

I've got an Intel Core i5-85000 CPU. I'll update my original post with this info too! Just really excited about upgrading, especially with new titles like Dune Awakening coming out!

Quick question—what's the difference between the regular cards and the 'super' models, like the 2060 vs. the 2060 Super? Does 'super' indicate something specific?
