I'm planning to build a high-end gaming PC with an RTX 5080 and Ryzen 9 9950X3D. I'll be traveling through China and Taiwan toward the end of the year, so I'm wondering whether there are reputable computer markets or stores where I could find these components at good prices. I currently have an RTX 4060 and would really like to upgrade during my three-month break, but I'm also unsure whether I should wait for the next generation of CPUs and GPUs before buying.

If you want to shop in Taiwan, Guang Hua Digital Plaza in Taipei is probably the most well-known place to compare PC components and prebuilt systems. Just check warranties, confirm that the parts are new and genuine, and compare the final price with what you’d pay at home before buying.
The main trade-off is whether you’d regret buying shortly before a new generation launches. Since you already have a working RTX 4060, waiting until the next announcements could give you better information and possibly better performance for the same budget. If gaming during your break matters more than having the newest platform, buying now is still reasonable—it’s just worth accepting that newer parts may appear a few weeks later.
Since your trip is near the launch window for newer CPU generations, I’d avoid locking yourself into a 9950X3D immediately. It may be worth waiting for the new announcements and checking performance and prices first. Computex coverage and local tech-show videos could also help you identify reputable retailers and markets.
That makes sense. Would a 9800X3D be a safer choice if I decide to build before the new parts arrive?

I’ve also heard there may be major electronics events or retailers offering Founders Edition cards at MSRP. Are there any specific events worth checking during the trip?
