I accidentally spilled about 10-30ml of water mainly on the keycaps of my laptop and wiped it up quickly. After waiting for 5 hours, I turned it on and it seems to work fine. Is there a reason to be concerned? Also, I've noticed my laptop runs at 50 to 60 °C when idle. It has an i5 1235u processor and 8GB of RAM. Any advice would be appreciated!

I’ve heard that water can't really damage things if the laptop is off, but since you have a charged battery, it might be a different case. Since it’s functioning well, it seems like you may be in the clear. Monitor it, though!
Many laptops have drainage holes under the keys, so if you flipped it upside down with the screen open, that could help any residual water escape. It sounds like you've done everything right so far!
It sounds like you might have dodged a bullet if it’s running fine after drying. Just keep an eye out for any strange behavior in the coming days. Regarding the temperature, 50-60 °C at idle isn't unusual for a thin laptop with an i5 processor—it's not a big deal unless it starts spiking consistently.
You should be good as long as it’s dried out completely, and waiting before turning it back on was a smart move. I used to work as a hardware technician and generally, small spills like that aren’t catastrophic if dealt with quickly.
Glad it’s working! Just be cautious of potential corrosion later on, so if you can, consider opening it up for a check or getting it cleaned professionally. The heat is a bit high but still generally acceptable.
Thanks for the reassurance! I'll definitely keep an eye on it.
