Could My Motherboard Be Causing CPU Failures?

I've got an Asus Tuf Gaming x670e-PLUS WiFi motherboard and have been using an AMD 7950X CPU for about 2.5 years without any issues. However, one morning I powered my PC on and the orange DRAM QLED light came on. After troubleshooting, I confirmed that the CPU was faulty, and after going through the RMA process with AMD, they sent me a 9950X as a replacement. Now, just a month later, I'm facing the same problem with the new CPU! I'm starting to suspect that the motherboard might be the culprit. Is there a chance that AMD would consider RMAing the CPU again? Should I even bother trying? And what about the motherboard? I've heard it's a hassle to RMA ASUS products. How can I prove the motherboard is bad when it seems to be working, at least for a little while? Just to note, I've been using the default CPU and memory settings without any overclocking.

It sounds like something might be killing your CPUs. I'd recommend RMAing both the motherboard and the PSU, just to be safe. AMD should honor the warranty on the CPU and offer another replacement. Also, make sure you've got the latest BIOS flashed on the motherboard because some ASUS boards have been known to fry CPUs. When you contact ASUS, make it clear that you’re having repeated CPU failures—they'll likely test the board and should replace it if they find an issue.

But what about that Asrock thread? They had far more issues with the 9000 series compared to ASUS. Seems like the problem started happening more after the BIOS updates.
