I'm struggling to keep my 13-year-old son from hacking through the security measures I've put in place on his laptop. He seems to easily break through filters and blocks that I set, even hacking my profile PIN and bypassing the Microsoft Family settings. I'm looking for advice on how to permanently block certain websites and gain more control over his laptop use. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Another approach could be to take away the laptop for a while, maybe have a digital detox period. It helps them focus on other activities and gives you a break from worrying about the hacking.
You can also restrict access through your router settings. Some routers allow you to limit bandwidth for specific devices, making it frustrating for him to use his laptop for anything beyond browsing.
Be careful with changing system settings or BIOS—could lead to data loss! Just make sure to backup your important files before making any adjustments to your son’s device.
You might want to consider using parental control software that allows you to set limits. If that doesn’t work, blocking websites directly at the router level is another effective method. This way, no matter what he tries on his laptop, those sites won't load at all.
If he’s getting into Windows 12, he might be from the future! But seriously, have you thought about just discussing these restrictions with him? Sometimes, open conversations can lead to better understanding.
Thanks for the reminder! I'll definitely back up the data first before trying anything.
