Should I Choose RTX 4060 or RX 6650 XT for Upgrading My GPU?

I'm considering upgrading from my RX 570 to a new GPU, specifically the RTX 4060 or the RX 6650 XT. The 4060 costs around $400, while the 6650 is about $30 cheaper. I'm looking for a card that can run games like Monster Hunter Wilds, Oblivion Remaster, and Expedition 33 at a stable 60 fps or more on my 144hz monitor at 1080p without sacrificing too much on graphics quality. Is the extra cost for the 4060 justified, or should I save some money with the 6650?

If you're really set on staying within budget, have you thought about the RX 7700 XT? Just be warned, it might stretch your budget a bit, around $135 more than your target.

Yeah, that’s way too much for me right now. Definitely trying to keep costs down.

Honestly, if you're gaming at 1080p, both the 4060 and 6650 should get the job done. That said, the 4060 does have better overall performance. I've been using it with a Ryzen 5600 at 1440p and it runs games smoothly. Just remember, some games like MH and Oblivion can be a bit demanding, so reviews might help you decide on performance.

Thanks for the insight! I think I’ll check out some performance videos for those games.

I'd recommend going with the RTX 4060, especially if you're aiming for stable performance in newer games. It's a solid choice, but keep an eye on the Intel B580 as well since it's a great option with its VRAM capacity. Plus, there's a new 9060 coming out soon that could be worth considering if you can wait a little longer.

Just a heads up, the 9060 will have 8GB VRAM, which isn’t great for newer titles. You might want to stick to higher VRAM cards for better longevity.
