Can You Track Who Accessed Files on a Work Network in Windows 11?

Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a tricky situation and hope someone can help me out. I need to establish whether a coworker accessed some private files of mine from her work computer. We have a network setup at the office where every employee has their own folder, but all of us are connected to the same network. Is there any way to check if my coworker opened those files? Can you see this kind of activity logged somewhere? Thanks in advance!

Honestly, if people can access each other's files and there's no logging in place, that sounds like a security risk. Definitely bring this up with IT!

If you're in a Windows domain, it is possible to see who accessed what, provided the necessary event logs are enabled. However, only a Domain Admin would be able to access this information, so you'll need to reach out to IT for help.

Just a heads-up: if your files are on a work network that everyone can access, technically speaking, you don't have private data there. But there might be logs for access if someone set that up correctly. You'll want to talk to whoever manages your network about this.
