What does it mean when Activation Lock asks for a password after my iPhone was stolen?

I had my iPhone stolen two days ago, and I just got an email saying that the Activation Lock is asking for my password. I've already marked the device as lost. I'm not sure what else I can do to recover it or get back at the thief without the phone.

This sounds like it could be a phishing attempt rather than a real request from Apple. Make sure to check if the email looks official before clicking any links. It's always best to go directly to Apple's website to handle concerns like this.

Yeah, it's definitely sketchy. Best not to give out your password unless you’re sure. You might want to check the official Apple support page for guidance.

If you marked the phone as lost, that should protect your data. But getting that email is definitely suspicious. Ensure you're not giving away any of your information to someone trying to scam you.

Exactly! You did the right thing by marking it as lost. Just be cautious and monitor your accounts for anything unusual.
