Best Laptops for Dual SSDs with Linux and Windows 11

I'm looking to buy a laptop that has two internal SSD slots so I can install Linux on one and Windows 11 on the other. I really need Windows 11 for music production software, but I plan to use Linux for everything else. Does anyone have recommendations for a good laptop that can handle this setup? Have you tried any specific models that worked well for this? Thanks for your help!

Finding a laptop with dual standard SSD slots can be tricky, but it's not impossible! Some devices, like those from Framework, offer a dual M.2 adapter option. My older Asus model has one M.2 slot and a SATA SSD slot, which works just fine for me. You could also consider looking into laptops that come with two M.2 slots—those are becoming more common.

I personally have a ThinkPad E14 Gen 6, and it comes with two M.2 SSD slots—one that's 2242 size and the other is 2280. It's been a solid choice for running both systems! If you're open to ThinkPads, I recommend checking that model out.

Don’t forget to mention your budget and location when asking for laptop recommendations! It helps narrow down the best options for you. Also, check out the migration tips and resources available on Linux forums, they can be super helpful!

You might want to think about getting a high-performance laptop and running Windows in a virtual machine. This way, you can use Linux as your primary OS while still accessing Windows for music production when you need it. It gives you full capability without the need for dual boots!
