Need Help Building a High-Performance Gaming PC After a Few Years

Hey everyone! I haven't built a PC since 2019 and I'm a bit out of the loop when it comes to the latest specs. My current setup was solid, but it's struggling with newer games, especially Borderlands 4 where I'm barely hitting 25 fps. I have some disposable income and I'm looking to invest in a top-notch PC that will last me at least five years or more. Here's what I'm planning to get:

* GPU: ASUS ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 OC
* CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D 16-core / 32-threads
* RAM: Kingston FURY Beast RGB DDR5 6000MHz 64GB (2x32GB)
* Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix X870-F GAMING WIFI
* PSU: ASUS TUF Gaming 1000W Gold PSU

I think there won't be any significant bottlenecks, but I'd love to hear if you have any recommendations for better alternatives that fit my needs!

You've chosen some top-tier components but consider switching to the AMD 9800X3D CPU. It’s really optimized for gaming and more cost-effective compared to the 9950X3D. For RAM, G.Skill might be a better choice, particularly with a lower CAS latency (CL) like CL26 for better performance.

I see. I'll switch out the CPU for the 9800X3D. It's cheaper and seems to offer pretty much the same performance for gaming.

I'm still unsure about the RAM though. How much difference is there between CL26 and CL32?

Honestly, not much has changed in the last few years. As long as you stick with high-end parts, you'll be good to go. Just remember, more numbers usually mean better performance, but it can get confusing. It's like trying to figure out all the ChatGPT models—who knows what's best?

Well, that's true. But the naming and specs can be really overwhelming. It's almost as bad as those ChatGPT model names! What's the best option anyway? O4, 4O? O3, maybe?
