I recently found my old Radeon RX 580 8G V1 while cleaning out some boxes. It's been sitting unused for about 3 to 4 years now, still wrapped in plastic, and I'm not sure if it's worth trying to sell or if I should just scrap it. I never mined with it, which is apparently something a lot of these cards were used for. I've noticed the selling prices for similar models vary quite a bit, from $30 to $250, and I'd love some advice on whether it's worth the hassle of selling or if I should just recycle it. Thanks in advance!

From what I've seen, RX 580s typically sell for around $30-50, with $50 being the upper limit from those in the know about GPUs. However, it’s still a decent card considering its age. If you know someone, like a family member or a young relative using an iGPU, it could be a good fit for a budget build around the RX 580 since it’s the 8GB model.
I appreciate the insight, thank you!
At the very least, if selling doesn’t work out, you can always just recycle it for parts, which is a good option too.
It can definitely outperform a lot of entry-level graphics options. My daughter uses an RX 560XT and it performs significantly better than the integrated graphics on her setup. It’s a nice addition for a budget gaming PC, especially for someone just starting into gaming.
You might want to list it for around $150 and see what offers come in. Just don't expect to actually sell it for that high, though!
Thanks! I was thinking of starting around $75. That $250 price sounded outrageous to me too!
Honestly, even if you don’t get much for it, just putting it up for sale is worth it! You can treat yourself to dinner with the profits! Someone will definitely find joy using it.
Just to add onto that, the RX 580 is actually the minimum requirement for games like *Half-Life: Alyx*, so it definitely still holds its ground for various gaming needs!
